We believe that life is a collection of moments, both large and small, which help to define who each of us are. These moments are meant to be celebrated and shared with family, friends and loved ones, to create lasting memories for years to come.
They are stories that will be shared around a dining table, hung on the walls in frames and passed down to future generations. These “defining moments” are special, significant and poignant, and we are honored to play a small role in helping create them.
We invite you to Define Your Moment…
Heather is the owner and lead event planner for Defining Moments Special Events.
A born & raised Southern girl from Atlanta, she developed an interest in parties and celebrations as a teenager, after finding the work of Martha Stewart (Weddings & Living) and Rachel Ashwell (Shabby Chic). But at the time, it never seemed like she could find a way to “party plan” for a living.
This dream became a reality during her final year at Florida State University. She spent her senior year as an Entertainment and Guest Relations cast member at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, learning the foundations of their world-renowned hospitality program, VIP guest service, operations and special events. Creating “magical moments” for guests on a daily basis was a true gift, and a passion for personal, curated and memorable events was sparked.
Heather has more than twenty years of experience in wedding and special event planning, having executed over 500 events, ranging in size from 2-1,500 people. Following her time as the Director of Weddings & Special
for the town of Seaside, Florida, she opened Defining Moments on the Gulf Coast, specializing in destination wedding & event planning for the various communities of 30A, as well as Sandestin and Destin.
She relocated to the metro-Atlanta area in 2021 and worked in the corporate event arena for Wellstar Health System. With a calling and personal passion for creating celebrations, she is excited to relaunch Defining Moments Special Events in Atlanta.
She resides in Roswell, Georgia with her husband, Marc, a high school English teacher who is her biggest supporter and cheerleader. She loves dancing, biking the Greenway, the San Francisco 49ers, traveling and musical theatre. In her spare time, she can be found regularly taking classes (and sometimes even performing) at MOTUS Dance Studio in Alpharetta.
